Meeting Location:

815-830am at Hannafords Market, 481 West St Keene, New Hampshire 03431
This gives everyone a chance to use a real bathroom and get last minute food/water.
At this location, Bob Manlick, the leader, will expect everyone to seek him out and pay the collecting
fees and sign a waiver. Everyone has to sign a waiver. Bob has a black ford escape.

If you are running late, contact the Leader by phone voicemail, or text.
Do not signup for this trip and fail to keep the leader informed. It is a simple request.

At approximately 845am we will then proceed around 10 miles to the mine.
Rules:
-No one under 10 years old (owner’s rule so don’t ask if I can make an exception)
-Individuals between 10 and 16 years old MUST be with the parent or adult.
-Dig in the flat dumps or the further out exploratory sites. Do not dig under trees, do not
cut big roots.
-If you take a rock from the road, fill in the hole.

What to bring:

The usual: bug spray, suntan lotion, gloves, crack hammer, scratching tools, sledge, chisel,
safety goggles… if you have questions, please email or call me.

Prohibited:

Alcohol, trailers, power tools

Clothing:

Steel toe boots and safety glasses required.
The owner requests a hardhat and bright vest. The hardhat is useful if you are near some of the
massive boulders and someone is above you. I would also bring a hat.

Tools:

Gloves, the usual assortment of rock and digging tools, sledge hammer and chisels if you are
into busting big rocks, loupe, rake, knee pads… A cart can work for part of the area.

Food & such:

There is no food, water, or bathroom. So, plan ahead. Bring plenty of water.

Access:

The leader will open a gate to a dirt road.
High clearance is required to get all the way to the main collecting area. Only space for 15 vehicles at
the main area. There will be a grassy area for everyone to park in. Distance from grassy parking area to main
area is about 100 yards or so.
The gate will remain open so you can leave when you want, but you must sign out when leaving (sending
a text to the leader is fine). This is to keep him from searching the woods for someone who is hurt if not
necessary.
(remember the bright vest!)

Trash:

Carry in, carry out. Do not leave anything behind that will make us look inconsiderate.
