Our Annual Auction is held during our December Club Meeting, and it’s always a great time for all! Below are the general rules to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event.
Auction Rules
If you are bringing items for auction, please arrive before 7:00PM. An officer is usually available to set up starting at 6:30PM.
- Silent Auction: All proceeds go to the club.
- Live Auction: Donated specimens are auctioned first, with all proceeds going to the club.
- Consignments: Auctioned after donations. 10% of proceeds go to the club, and 90% go to the consignee.
Donations
Specimens may be donated to the club for the live auction or the silent auction.
Consignments
- The club retains 10% of the sale price, and the consignee receives 90%.
- Each consignor must register with the money table to receive an ID letter.
- Each consignor must donate at least one quality specimen for the live auction or a flat of material for the silent auction.
- Clearly designate which specimen(s) you are donating to the club.
- Make sure all consignment items are labeled with a completed consignment slip.
Consignment Slips
- Slips are available at the money table.
- You may bring as many items as you like, but please indicate the order in which they should be auctioned by assigning a lot number.
- Fill out all required information on the slip, including your name and ID letter.
- You can specify a minimum bid for your items. If no bids are placed at or above the minimum, you may withdraw the item from the auction.
Bidders
- Register your name at the money table to receive a bidding number to be able to participate in the auction.
- Please avoid bringing large bills unless you intend to spend them, as change may be limited. Cards, checks, Paypal and Venmo are also accepted.
- Payouts can only be made during the auction break or at the end of the auction.
Silent Auction
The silent auction will close after the auction break. Items won in the silent auction may not be claimed or paid for until the end of the event.
