This location is a club favorite, is child friendly and a great family trip! It has one of the largest sign-up capacity all season! This is a great introductory trip and opportunity for new rockhounds as well. It is well known for beryl and beautiful rose quartz! Please read this page in full. It has important information as well as the required waiver to bring with you the day of the event.

Parking:
Please proceed down the driveway and you will be directed where to park. Please wait on guidance for where to park, as we will have a large number of cars to make room for. If you can carpool, please do so. High clearance vehicles recommended. Low clearance vehicles should make it down the driveway but please use caution. There will be room for parking towards the beginning of the driveway to accommodate low clearance vehicles if needed, arrive in a timely
fashion if you need this space. There is a short walk from the parking area to the dig sites.
Check In and Out/Arrival:
Please arrive for 9 to allow time for parking and check in. We will have a very large group and cannot begin the safety meeting and dig day until everyone arrives.
Please pay your dig fees, check in with the trip leader and sign and turn in your waiver(s).
*Signed waivers are required and you are responsible for printing and bringing your waiver. If a minor is attending, the minor and parent/guardians’ signatures are needed. One waiver per member.
You must sign out on the sign-up sheet or with the trip leader directly before leaving. I do not want to have to search for you at the end of the day.
Trip Limitations:
Limit: 50 members
Age limit: None. All children must be closely supervised at all times.
There are dangerous areas so safety must be followed at all times!
A waiting list will be kept as needed.
Dig Fees:
Please bring exact cash!
Ages 16- and older: $25
Ages 7-15: $7
Ages 6 and under: Free!
The club will be sponsoring the remainder of the dig fees.
What to bring/is required:
Eye protection
Boots- steel-toe
Long pants
Safety/high vis vests
Hard hat (required if working on walls/ledges)
Optional:
Gloves
Basic rock tools (rock hammer, hand sledge and chisels)
Garden hand tools (small shovel and rake)
Sledgehammer (if you like to break the bigger boulders)
Sifter
5-gallon bucket(s)
Plastic baggies/containers to store finds (no glass)
Newspaper, paper towels (to wrap specimens)
Pull cart (if you want large rocks)
Food/snacks
Water/drinks
Bug spray
Sunscreen
Change of clothes
Rain gear (if applicable)
Special Instructions Per Mine Owners:
-Rose Quartz will be limited to no more than 1⁄2 of a 5-gallon bucket. Anything more than that or larger must be approved through the owners of the property. Additional fees may apply.
-No digging by the campsite landing
-Please respect the property – No digging or undermining trees and no cutting of big roots. Fill inlarge holes
-There are 2 porta potties available and the club is responsible for cleaning after use
-No power tools
Safety Information:
There will be a required safety meeting by the mine owners before we begin our dig day.
Please respect this request and follow all safety guidelines and instructions by the mine
owners!
- Hard hats are REQUIRED to be worn when working on walls or ledges
