Member outreach/collaboration: is there a faceter in the house?

Quote

Ahoy there, WMC Mateys!

a few years ago I purchased some rose quartz rough and some tumbled aquamarine gemmy bits from the previous owner of the Tripp Mine in Alstead, NH. One of the club’s regular field trip sites these days, which still can produce some of these materials. Rarely for facetable quality. Some of the rose quartz pieces I did in fact find on a WMC field trip, and earlier this year 2025 I dug up some more, very pale but transparent rose-ish quartz. All of the beryl I have found there was either opaque or crackled so not gem material.

I promised I would facet them rather than make cabachons if I finished them, and intended to get and learn to use faceting equipment. But, time went on, I retired and now can’t afford the time or money for a faceting rig.

SO, I am looking to collaborate on this project with someone who knows what they are doing and has what it takes! By which I mean a faceting machine and the willingness, mainly. I could also learn from that person if they are willing to work with me on it.  It would be a real waste not to facet some of these amazing stones. Anyone? Beuller?

Thanks in Advance!  ALSO, how in heck does one attach a photo here? Seems really difficult.
